Under the leadership of the Dean of the College of Medicine, a medical team successfully performed a rare surgery
A medical team led by Dr. Naufal Ali Al-Mubarak, Dean of the College of Medicine at the University of Basrah, successfully conducted a rare surgical operation at Al-Fayhaa Specialized Hospital for Diabetes and Endocrinology.
Dr. Naufal Ali Al-Mubarak explained that the surgery was performed on a 22 years old patient suffering from high blood pressure and a tumor in the right adrenal gland, along with another tumor near the nerve nodes. The medical team was able to remove two tumors from the abdomen.
He added that the operation required two weeks of preparation due to the risks associated with anesthesia during the operation procedure.
He confirmed that the medical team successfully removed the right adrenal gland along with the tumor and removed the other tumor without any complications.
