University of Basrah Holds a Memorial Ceremony on the Anniversary of the Martyrdom of the Victory Leaders
The College of Education for Humanities at the University of Basrah held a memorial ceremony on the fifth anniversary of the martyrdom of the victory leaders, attended by the university's president, Dr. Muhanad Jawad Kazim, his deputies for scientific and administrative affairs, and a number of official and academic figures.
The memorial included various cultural segments and enthusiastic songs, with participation from poets and performers, as well as the distribution of shields to the families of the martyrs.
In his speech on the occasion, the university president stated that the Popular Mobilization Forces are truly the backbone of Iraq and a testament to the sacrifices of those who carried the banner of defending the homeland and holy sites.
He added that the martyrs Al-Muhandis and Soleimani symbolize sacrifice and devotion, and their stance on the battlefields inspires future generations with the meanings of dignity and honor. Their sacrifices were not merely a passing event in our history but a glorious chapter that drew the path for those who follow the path of resistance.
The university's Vice President for Administrative Affairs, Dr. Haider Khazaal Al-Kaabi, pointed out that since the dawn of history, sacrifice and heroism have been the sustenance carried by heroes to defend the land, faith, and sanctities. The sacrifices made by our people, with all its colors and sects, are embodied in the greatest images, represented by the towering symbol of the Popular Mobilization Forces, which gave their precious lives and all they owned in defense of the homeland against the terrorist takfiri gangs since the blessed fatwa of Sayyid Ali al-Sistani.
Al-Kaabi added that Haj Qasim Soleimani, Abu Mahdi al-Muhandis, and the martyrs of the Popular Mobilization Forces and armed forces will have their names inscribed in golden letters in history due to their courageous heroism and sacrifice, leading Iraq to safety and celebrated victory, as they drew strength from their faith in God and their nation and from a determination that does not know surrender in the face of challenges and difficulties.
