A PhD Thesis at the University of Basrah Examines Four Varieties of Mung Bean Crop
A PhD thesis at the College of Agriculture at the University of Basrah examined the effect of planting methods and distances on the growth, yield and quality of four varieties of mung bean crop grown in two cities in the southern region.
The thesis of the doctoral student Yasseen Muhsin Ghadib showed that the results of the research showed the superiority of the Kohar variety, which excelled in most growth and yield characteristics for the Basra and Maysan locations, and the best quality with its protein containing the largest number of essential and non-essential amino acids, and the superiority of the 20 cm distance in most growth and yield characteristics in the Basra location and the highest protein percentage in the Maysan location, and the 25 cm distance excelled in most growth and yield characteristics in the Maysan location. The planting method outperformed Maroz in most growth characteristics, yield and essential and non-essential amino acids for the two study cites.
