University of Basrah Completes the Implementation of the National Strategy for Combating Drugs
The Department of Media and Government Communication at the Presidency of the University of Basrah completed the implementation of the National Strategy for Combating Drugs and Psychotropic Substances 2023-2025 according to the ministerial directives and recommendations of the Ministry of Interior and in cooperation with the Communications and Media Commission.
Earlier, Haider Abdul-Ameer Khalaf, the head of Media and Government Communication Department, Assistant Lecturer, directed the university's formations to organize intensive campaigns that include holding seminars and awareness sessions for students on the dangers of the phenomenon of drug abuse and ways to prevent it and warn of the health, psychological, social and legal damages it causes them by inviting academics and specialists to give lectures as well as designing and distributing educational brochures and posters that carry clear and influential awareness messages on the same matter, in addition to using official social media platforms to spread awareness and enhance the campaign.
The President of the University of Basrah, Dr. Muhannad Jawad Kadhim, praised the role of the Department of Media and Government Communication, colleges and centers in implementing the program prepared to combat drugs and psychotropic substances and the steps that have been taken to educate society and shield it against this dangerous scourge.
