A Lecturer at the University of Basrah Participates in a Symposium on Domestic Violence

A lecturer at the College of Marine Sciences at the University of Basrah, Azhar Kamel Nasser, participated in managing a symposium entitled "Domestic Violence is a Widespread Phenomenon in Society", which was organized by the Department of Medical Laboratories at the Technical Medical Institute.

The symposium included a discussion on domestic violence, where she discussed its dimensions and effects, suggested awareness campaigns, including the topic in curricula, providing advisory services, implementing laws, and enhancing cooperation to confront this phenomenon.

The symposium addressed the definition of domestic violence as a sensitive, multi-dimensional issue that affects individuals, families, and society as a whole, stressing the importance of confronting this phenomenon through integrated efforts that include all segments of society, while emphasizing the need for strong political and societal will to achieve the desired change.
