University of Basra organizes a workshop on performance evaluation
The Department of Quality Assurance and University Performance at the University of Basra organized a workshop entitled "The controls and instructions of the performance evaluation process according to the updated forms for the year 2023-2024" with the participation of quality officials in the faculties and centers of the university.
The workshop aimed to clarify the concept of performance evaluation, its importance and objectives, and the role of senior administrative leaders in developing and improving it in order to improve university education.
The workshop, which was attended by the Director of the Department of Quality Assurance and University Performance, Dr. Abdulkarim Taher Yasser, the Performance Evaluation Division official, Dr. Rahim Khazal Musawil, and the Technical Training Unit official, Doa Shahid Habib, addressed the basic axioms of quality with the development of detailed and constructive plans for productive educational quality in the university, as the workshop indicated that performance evaluation is not an objective or goal but a means to develop performance as the educational institution evaluates all its elements from curriculum, environment and scientific research and depending on the efficiency of teaching staff.
The workshop recommended the necessity of publishing scientific research in international journals and studying approved program standards according to the scientific plan form, as well as identifying the strengths and weaknesses in the evaluation of university performance and trying to improve it for the better.
