University of Basra Organizes a Workshop on Electronic Information Resources in Libraries
The Faculty of Fine Arts at the University of Basra organized a workshop entitled "Electronic Information Resources Available in the Library and How to Use Them" within the framework of enhancing information awareness among students.
The workshop aimed to introduce students to the library's resources, classification mechanisms and borrowing card forms to ensure optimal utilization of library services.
The workshop, which was presented by Adel Hussein, Director of the College Library, included an explanation of the classification of available resources and references in terms of diversity, number and methods of organization, including academic books, theses and dissertations, in addition to various cultural books. The workshop also highlighted modern methods of searching for library materials and mechanisms for sorting them according to the different departments within the college.
In a related context, the workshop touched on the types of lending available, explaining the difference between internal lending, which allows students to view books inside the library, and external lending, which is done by registering the lent materials through specialized cards.
