University of Basra's Assistant Vice President for Administrative Affairs Meets with Representatives of Oil Companies in the Governorate
Dr. Haider Khazaal Al-Kaabi, Assistant Vice President for Administrative Affairs, met with representatives of Basrah Gas, Shell and Mitsubishi in the presence of the Dean of the College of Engineering, Dr. Mufid Rashid Turki and the Rehabilitation and Recruitment Division.
The meeting reached the need to complete memoranda of understanding and cooperation in the field of recruitment of graduates, training of students, exchange of experiences and holding courses to maximize state resources, as well as expanding cooperation programs between oil companies and the faculties of engineering, literature, management, economics, education for humanities and education for pure sciences.
BGC is a mixed public-private company with three partners: the Iraqi South Gas Company, which represents 51%, Shell 44%, and Mitsubishi 5%. BGC plays a vital role in achieving Iraq's energy strategy and economic diversification as the main gas processing center in Iraq.
