University of Basra organizes a seminar on the possibility of establishing a private securities market in Basra
The Center for Basra and Arabian Gulf Studies organized a seminar on the economic potential available in Basra Governorate and its role in establishing a securities market to finance projects.
The seminar, presented by Dr. Bashir Hadi Odeh, explained Basra's great economic resources and potentials that qualify it to be the economic capital of Iraq, including the strategic geographical location and the availability of investment opportunities, which requires it to have a financial market that attracts capital to finance projects to be implemented in various fields of production such as manufacturing and oil industries, electricity generation, renewable energy projects, as well as infrastructure projects and sports, tourism and service facilities.
