University of Basra organizes a scientific trip for its students to the marshes of Basra province
The Faculty of Agriculture at the University of Basra organized a scientific trip for the first stage students from the departments of Animal Production and Plant Protection to the marshes of Basra Governorate.
The trip aimed to familiarize the students with the local breeds of buffalo and cows and their breeding methods in the region, in addition to highlighting the challenges facing the breeding of these animals, such as the drying of the marshes and the scarcity of water and its negative impact on the spread of green pastures.
The trip included listening to a presentation from the breeders about the main issues they face and their daily struggles. This trip comes as part of the requirements of the "Principles of Animal Production" class for the first semester, through which the college seeks to enhance the practical aspect of the students and link them to the reality of animal husbandry in their local environment.
