A master's thesis at the University of Basra's Faculty of Fine Arts examined the monomateriality of contemporary sculpture (an applied study).
The thesis, submitted by researcher Mustafa Faleh Salem, aimed to reveal the monomateriality in the structure of contemporary sculptural work.
The thesis included a study of the issue of monomateriality in the structure of the work and the use of a single material, whether natural or synthetic, which leads to the highlighting of the unique characteristics of the material in the sculptural work and shows the sculptor's ability and knowledge of the nature of the material and its properties that determine the extent of the output of the sculptural work and the techniques and methods used.
