The Center for Marine Sciences at the University of Basra, in cooperation with the security police formations, organized an awareness seminar entitled (the impact of drugs and ways to reduce it).
The seminar dealt with the disadvantages of addiction and the journey of recovery from it, the fight against drugs and methods of treatment.
The seminar addressed the dangers and psychological and social effects of drugs, the awareness-raising role of religious institutions in society, and the position of Islamic jurisprudence on the crime of possession, trafficking and use.
