Basra University Organizes a Seminar on Combating Drug Abuse
The College of Dentistry at Basra University organized a seminar on the challenges of the era and prospects for confronting them through awareness and law.
The seminar aims to shed light on drug abuse, which poses a real threat to our Iraqi society, as it targets the most crucial element in it—the youth, who represent the fundamental cornerstone upon which society is built and depends.
The seminar, led by Dr. Abdul Ali Hamid Al-Tamimi, a faculty member of the college, addressed the development of Iraqi legislation related to drug control, the provisions of penalties, and the role of security and judicial authorities in enforcing the law.
Additionally, Dr. Hana Abdul Nabi Al-Abadi, in her lecture, discussed contemporary challenges and proposals for updating the law to enhance efforts in combating drugs.
