A PhD Thesis at the University of Basrah Examines the Physiological Responses of Adolescent Shrimp
A PhD thesis at the College of Marine Sciences at the University of Basrah examined the physiological responses of adolescent shrimp, the hyper-salinity, and the effect of silver and chitosan nanoparticles on growth parameters.
The thesis, presented by the student Ashwaq Talib Abbas, aimed to study the physiology of the fat shrimp in its natural environment through differences in the proportions of body components, and to study the ions and minerals present in the hemolymph and body, as well as to know the effect of two types of laboratory-prepared silver and chitosan nanoparticles on growth parameters.
The thesis concluded that there are responses at the level of body components and the histological nature of the gills between individuals living in the two environments.
