As part of sustainable development to eliminate environmental pollution University of Basra organizes a course on creating and managing an aquaponics system
The Faculty of Agriculture at the University of Basra organized a course on the establishment and management of the aquaponics system for graduates of the Faculty of Agriculture and those interested in fish farming.
The course aims to teach participants about the scientific methods of managing fish farms with the Aquaponic system.
The three-day course included lectures by Dr. Salah Mahdi Najm and a group of professors, which dealt with water quality specifications and a summary of the types of aquaponics systems, and then dealt with the most important plant species cultivated in the aquaponics system.
The course recommended focusing on the field observation of the participants in the Aquaponics Research Demonstration Project managed by the Aquaculture Unit, which was established in cooperation with the World Food Program (WFP).
