As Part of Series of Development Activities in the Environmental Aspect, University of Basrah is Developing Gardens at Garmat Ali Site
The Diwan Affairs Department at University of Basrah has carried out a series of development works that included three main sites, in addition to completing the inspection, inventory and planning operations for the new garden at Garmat Ali site.
The Director of the Department, Engineer Mahmoud Jaafar, said "These works aim to improve and exploit the green spaces within the university, with the addition of new areas for agriculture after securing the necessary irrigation sources".
Mahmoud added: "The works included filling an old hole, repairing a broken water pipe, in addition to starting to establish a new water line serving the garden, turning and plowing the soil, and the soil was washed and cleaned of salts and harmful elements in preparation for the upcoming spring season".
