University of Basrah Organizes a Symposium on the Language of Plants, Communication Tools in Plant Protection
The College of Agriculture at the University of Basrah organized a symposium on the language of plants, communication tools in plant protection.
The symposium aims to define modern concepts in the field of plant interaction with its environment.
The symposium included a lecture presented by lecturers Dr. Aqeel Adnan Abdul-Sayed and Dr. Muhammad Hamza Abbas, who discussed the concepts of language in plants and the mechanisms of chemical and physical communication between plants and their environment, and ways to adapt to overcome external influences.
It showed the applied aspects of modern technologies to exploit these mechanisms to enhance resistance.
The symposium recommended the necessity of research work on modern technologies in treating pests, to achieve sustainability goals.
