University of Basrah Organizes a Lecture on Al-Kindi's Epistle on the Mind
The College of Arts at the University of Basrah organized a lecture on Al-Kindi's Epistle on the Mind - Problems and Responses.
The lecture aims to shed light on the vision of the Canadian philosopher of the concept of the mind, in his epistle in which he presented the ideas of the praised philosophers of the ancients, especially Plato and Aristotle.
The lecture, presented by the college lecturer Dr. Ali Hadi Taher, included Al-Kindi's division of minds into four sections, indicating that this division is consistent with what Plato and Aristotle mentioned, but Al-Kindi overlooked the fundamental difference between the two philosophers, as Plato believes that knowledge is remembered, while Aristotle confirms that it is acquired.
