A Master's Thesis at the University of Basrah Seeks to Isolate and Diagnose Some Types of Bacteria from the Respiratory System
A master's thesis at the College of Education, Al-Qurna, University of Basrah, investigated the isolation and diagnosis of some types of bacteria from the upper respiratory system and skin of sheep and cows and test their drug sensitivity in Al-Qurna District.
The thesis, presented by the student Salma Abdul-Hussein Dawood, aimed to identify the bacterial species that cause respiratory infections and abscesses in cattle.
The thesis included the isolation of 50 samples from infected sheep and cows, and they were chemically and biologically diagnosed, and the diagnosis was confirmed genetically by 16SrRNA. In addition, 27 samples were isolated for the first time from cattle in northern Basra, and registered in NCBI, and a drug sensitivity test was conducted on the samples.
