The Faculty of Agriculture at the University of Basra organized a workshop on the design of gardens and botanical parks.
The workshop aims to demonstrate the correct scientific methods in the establishment of public and home gardens.
The workshop, presented by Dr. Abdul Kazim Nasser Saleh and Dr. Zain Al-Abideen Abdul Hussein, included the foundations and practical rules in garden design, the types of designs used in public and private gardens, the botanical garden, the basics of its engineering designs, and the most important functions it aims to achieve.
The workshop concluded that the establishment of botanical gardens works to preserve biodiversity and is an open book for students and scholars.
The workshop recommended working on establishing such public gardens with specialized purposes, whether in Basra or in Iraq in general.
