University of Basrah Organizes a Workshop on the Use of biotechnology in the Aquatic Environment for Sustainable Development in Spreading Blue Technology
The Marine Science Center at the University of Basrah organized a workshop on the use of biotechnology in the aquatic environment.
The workshop aimed to highlight the role of blue technology in addressing aquatic environment problems and finding economic solutions to improve the management and sustainability of water resources, combat diseases, purify water from pollutants, and produce biofuel from marine algae in order to develop sustainable development underwater.
The workshop included an explanation and report on the success of applying some technologies such as the use of (CRISPR_Cas9) technology in genome editing, molecular diagnosis technology for aquatic plants, and plant tissue culture technology.
