For the sustainable development of substance abuse awareness. University of Basra participates in the launch of the first anti-drug platform
In application of the UN program in the sustainability of awareness against the wrong use of medical substances, the Director of the Center for Educational Counseling and Psychological Care, Dr. Heba Majeed Issa, participated with a group of deans of the faculties of the medical group at the University of Basra in the opening ceremony of the first electronic platform to combat the scourge of drugs in Iraq called ( No to drugs, yes to life ), which was launched under the auspices of the Iraqi Society for Medical Research and Studies in Basra.
"The website provides any person, governmental or non-governmental institution with sufficient information on how to combat drugs, as well as providing help to addicts and their relatives by guiding them to the sources of recovery from addiction, and how to apply the steps of the educational guidance program prepared by us as specialists," said Dr. Heba.
The program aims to contain addicts and rehabilitate them psychologically in preparation for their reintegration into society as active members who contribute to transferring their positive experiences with experts and specialists to the rest of those affected by this scourge, as the war on drugs requires us as combat partners from researchers, specialists and experts a long breath and patience to curb the phenomenon of the spread of drugs in Iraq in general and Basra in particular.
