University of Basra master's thesis examines blockchain-based secure image encryption technology
A master's thesis at the Faculty of Computer Science and Information Technology at the University of Basra has explored a secure blockchain-based image encryption technique
The thesis, submitted by master's student Batoul Salem Aref, aims to convert images from their readable and understandable form to an incomprehensible form for people who are not allowed to recognize them, to eliminate the issue of exposure and privacy violation.
The thesis used additional techniques such as SHA-256 and SHA3-256 to serve as a strong source of blockchain sensitivity, where hashes are adopted to connect the blocks among themselves as well as secure proof-of-work. The strength of the proposed technique was evaluated through differential attack, information entropy, and correlation coefficient analysis, among others.
