University of Basra organizes a seminar on the phenomenon of divorce and family violence
The Faculty of Arts at the University of Basra organized a seminar on the phenomenon of divorce and family violence, its effects and solutions.
The symposium aims to address the causes of divorce and domestic violence, their social and psychological effects, as well as the complementary role of family counseling and the law in reducing these phenomena and promoting family stability.
The symposium included the presentation of several research papers in which the researchers emphasized the importance of providing psychological and social support to couples and enhancing effective communication methods, which contributes to reducing marital conflicts and reducing cases of violence and divorce. The seminar also highlighted the importance of legislation that protects the rights of all family members, such as personal status laws and criminalization of domestic violence, as well as reconciliation and settlement mechanisms to protect children from the negative effects of family conflicts.
