A Master's Thesis at the University of Basrah Examines Some Derivatives of Crotamiton
A master's thesis at the College of Pharmacy at the University of Basrah examined the manufacture and characterization of some derivatives of Crotamiton.
The thesis presented by the student Haitham Abdul-Sadda Hassan aimed at how to increase the effectiveness of chemical compounds derived from Crotamiton against bacteria and fungi because Crotamiton only works against fungi to treat scabies.
The thesis included the manufacture of new chemical compounds from the Crotamiton compound, where the molecular doping was studied on the compounds derived from Crotamiton and the characterization of the manufactured compounds using several methods, including (UV visible, FTIR, NMR, Mass) and then the biological activity was measured on the compounds derived from Crotamiton against bacteria and fungi (Candida albicans).
