For the protection and development of underwater systems University of Basra master's thesis examines the use of a protein source in the diets of juvenile fish
A master's thesis at the University of Basra's Faculty of Agriculture investigated the use of silage prepared from poultry carcasses as a protein source in the diets of juvenile common carp.
The master's thesis of the student Afraa Qusai Yacoub aims to take advantage of poultry carrot waste as a high nutritional value waste and use it as a protein source as a partial alternative to expensive fish powder in feeding carp fingerlings.
The study included the preparation of a silage product from poultry carcass waste as a by-product of the poultry cleaning and selling process.
The study concluded that these wastes are characterized by high digestibility and high protein content, and the best methods can be found to extract and optimize proteins using chemical, enzymatic and physical methods and use them in the fish feed industry.
