University of Basrah Organizes an Awareness-Raising Workshop on Practicing Sports in Eliminating the Phenomenon of Drugs
The College of Administration and Economics, in cooperation with the Center for Development and Continuing Education at the University of Basrah, organized an awareness-raising workshop on "The role of sports in eliminating the phenomenon of drugs in society."
The workshop aims to highlight the importance of sports and its role in helping to improve self-confidence and self-esteem, which reduces the desire to resort to drugs.
The workshop, which was lectured by both lecturers Israa Khairi Abd and Asia Ali, included a statement on the positive effects of sports and the role it plays in eliminating the phenomenon of drugs in society, and providing healthy alternatives through which energies and interests related to sports activities can be expressed, and mental health can be promoted, which reduces the risk of exposure to drug abuse.
