For sustainable development in the field of environmental conservation and innovation. University of Basra receives the seventh creativity award in the National Forum for Sustainable Development competition
The University of Basra's scout team won the seventh creativity award among (45) private and governmental universities participating in the National Forum for Sustainable Development competition held under the auspices of the Scientific Supervision and Evaluation Agency from 23 to 27 February this year at the University of Basra.
About the closing ceremony of the competition, the Director of the Student Activities Department, Dr. Ghassan Habib Al-Bajari, said, "The conclusion of the National Scout Forum witnessed the holding of a student competition in which about (45) scout teams participated, in which we were able to obtain the seventh place award after passing many paragraphs of the competition by presenting our university team with practical ideas and initiatives documented by video, summarized in its establishment of voluntary campaigns contributing to solving sustainable development issues in aspects of preserving the environment and biodiversity on land and underwater, addressing climate change and encouraging innovations and environmentally friendly industries."
The University of Basra Scouts team will have many future challenges in order to work on achieving the paragraphs of the United Nations Sustainable Development Program (2015-2030), which requires support from several parties in Basra Governorate, including the local government, the Governorate Environment Directorate and other concerned departments, through this deserved victory, the team has proven its high merit in its leadership to solve various issues of sustainable development in Basra.
