A master's thesis at the University of Basra examines the hijacking of the Italian ship

A master's thesis at the University of Basra, Faculty of Education and Humanities examined the 1985 hijacking of the Italian ship Achille Lauro and its repercussions.

The thesis, submitted by student Ebrar Taleb Naim Al-Saadi, aimed to analyze the hijackings carried out by the Palestine Liberation Front (PLF), with a focus on the hijacking of the Italian ship.

The thesis included one of the PFLP's attempts to stop Israeli expansion at the expense of Palestinian territories by developing military plans that would put an end to this expansion, and chose a new tactic.
