University of Basra organizes a workshop on the crimes of the Baath Party in Iraq
The Faculty of Education for Humanities at the University of Basra organized a workshop on "The Crimes of the Baath Party in Iraq".
The workshop aimed to shed light on the grave violations committed by the Baath Party during its rule of Iraq, analyze the effects of these crimes on the Iraqi people and the region, and review their various social, political and cultural aspects.
The workshop, which was attended by a number of faculty members, included the negative effects on geography, demography, the educational process and curricula that were subject to the party's directives, as well as the psychological effects of these crimes on individuals and Iraqi society, as well as their profound effects on the Iraqi language and culture.
The workshop dealt with the history of the repression and authoritarianism practiced by the party against various groups and segments of society, especially its targeting of religious institutions, as well as the international positions on these crimes.
