University of Basra organizes a seminar on the contributions of Basra's historians in the Abbasid era
The Center for Basra and Arabian Gulf Studies organized a scientific seminar on the contributions of Basra's historians in historical writing until the end of the Abbasid era.
The seminar addressed the leadership of Basra's scholars, writers and intellectuals in writing history and its various fields, such as the efforts of Abu al-Yaqzaan al-Basri in genealogy and news writing, the efforts of Ibn Saad in his book "The Great Tabqaqat", the methodology of Khalifa bin Khayyat al-Basri in writing the genealogy of the Arabs, and the methodology of Ibn Hisham al-Qahdmi in his writing of history.
