University of Basra President participates in National Afforestation Day activities
The President of the University of Basra, Dr. Muhannad Jawad Kazim, participated in a large-scale afforestation campaign that included colleges in Bab Al-Zubair and Karma Ali on the occasion of the National Afforestation Day in implementation of the plan of the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research and in conjunction with the Prime Minister's initiative to plant five million trees and palm trees.
The university president, accompanied by a number of department heads, conducted a campaign to plant a group of shrubs in the presidential gardens, which will preserve the environment, expand green spaces and protect vegetation.
This step comes as an opportunity for national participation in preserving nature, combating climate change, and encouraging interest in planting trees and plants in Iraq to enhance wildlife and eliminate other environmental challenges to achieve sustainable development goals.
