A master's thesis at the University of Basra's Faculty of Arts examined the history of local administration in Basra and its development (1921-1958).
The thesis, submitted by student Amjad Abdul Amir Hasab, aims to study contemporary local history in Iraq, a topic of great importance due to its important role in revealing the course of various events and their development in various fields, especially the administrative field of Iraq's cities, which constitutes an important and vital part of the study of the history of the contemporary Iraqi state.
The thesis included three chapters that discussed the emergence of administrative institutions in the Basra Brigade during the mandate era (1921-1932), the development of administrative departments in the Basra Brigade during the independence era (1932-1945), and the developments in the construction of administrative institutions (1945-1958).
