University of Basrah Creates a Unit to Eliminate Stray Dogs
The university president, Dr. Muhannad Jawad Kadhim, stated that the university has created a unit to eliminate stray dogs at the University of Basrah, headed by a lecturer from the College of Veterinary Medicine and including representatives from the Follow-up Department and Diwan Affairs.
Adding that the university presidency decided to create this unit after receiving complaints from students about the presence of stray dogs in the Bab Al-Zubair Colleges Complex, and the unit began its tasks.
Stressing that eliminating this phenomenon, which has begun to spread in most cities of Basra, requires joint efforts between the relevant departments in the governorate, and this is what the university worked on after communicating with the Veterinary Department in Basra to supervise its treatment according to appropriate scientific procedures.
Noting that the university is keen on the safety of its members and students and that it carries out periodic campaigns to spray pesticides and treat rodents in all university sites.
