University of Basra master's thesis examines the USS Pueblo crisis and its repercussions
A master's thesis at the University of Basra's Faculty of Education for Girls examined the 1968 USS Pueblo crisis and its repercussions.
The thesis, submitted by student Saba Abdul Hussein Mohsen, aims to analyze the USS Pueblo detention crisis by North Korea in 1968, by reviewing its political, military and diplomatic dimensions, and assessing its implications for relations between the two countries.
The dissertation included three chapters in which she discussed the historical aspects of the incident, from the detention process and accusations of espionage to the American and international reactions, to the negotiations that ended with the release of the crew after intense diplomatic pressure.
