For Sustainable Development in Preserving Marine Diversity and Protecting Ecosystems, University of Basrah Records New Genetic Sequences for Grouper Fish
A research team at the Marine Science Center at the University of Basrah, consisting of Dr. Majid Abdul-Aziz Banai, Dr. Najm Mohsen Aziz, and lecturers Hanan Abdul-Zahra, Fawzi Mustafa Al-Khajah, and Zahraa Shaker, was able to record new genetic sequences for marine grouper fish in the World Gene Bank and the National Center for Biotechnology Information (NCBI).
The new registration is an important step in the field of sustainable development to document the genetic characteristics of grouper fish in the Arabian Gulf, as this new data contributes to enhancing studies related to biodiversity, genetic evolution, fishery resource management, and the protection of fish ecosystems in the region.
