A master's thesis at the College of Science at the University of Basrah examined the protective effect of some isolated extracts from cardamom and fenugreek plants on tissue changes in some organs of male rats treated with dexamethasone.
The thesis of the student Zahraa Abdul-Ridha Jabbar aims to extract and isolate the active compounds and evaluate tissue changes.
The thesis included evaluating the protective and therapeutic role of volatile oils extracted from cardamom seeds and alkaloids extracted from fenugreek seeds on blood glucose and insulin levels, and a biochemical study to test liver functions and measure the level of its enzymes, in addition to tissue changes in the tissues of the pancreas, liver and kidneys of rats treated with dexamethasone.
