University of Basra master's thesis examines Sawt al-Arab Radio's impact on Arab developments
A master's thesis at the University of Basra's Faculty of Arts examines the Voice of Arab Radio and its impact on Arab developments (1953-1967) in a historical study.
The thesis, submitted by student Zainab Khudair Omar, aims to identify how Sawt al-Arab Radio was used to spread propaganda and create large-scale ideological campaigns against the supposed enemies of Arab national security and the psychological warfare contained in that propaganda through the historical dimension and its ability to influence the Arab masses.
The thesis includes five chapters on the establishment of Egyptian radio and Sawt al-Arab Radio (1925-1953), Sawt al-Arab Radio and Maghreb issues (1953-1965), the impact of the radio on political developments in the Arab Mashreq (1954-1967), the impact of the radio on Arabian Gulf and Arabian Peninsula issues (1954-1967), and its position on political developments in Egypt and its foreign policy (1956-1967).
