For Sustainable Development Underwater, University of Basrah Organizes a Course on Fish Life
The Marine Science Center at the University of Basrah organized a training course on practical applications of fish life.
The course aimed to sustain the information required for future plans in managing and improving fish wealth stocks.
The course, which was lectured by Dr. Falah Marouf Mutlaq, dealt with how to estimate the ages of fish based on their skeletal parts, how to prepare them and estimate the regressive calculation of fish ages, calculating the gonad function (GIS) to know the spawning season for fish, calculating fertility and stages of gonad development and describing them, calculating nutritional components within weight, volumetric and numerical methods, as well as calculating the nutritional overlap between fish and calculating the vital indicators of their community.
