University of Basrah Organizes a Discussion Session on Medicinal Plants
The College of Agriculture at the University of Basrah organized a discussion session on medicinal plants, some of their benefits and the basis of their classification.
The session, in which lecturer In'am Muhammad Hussein lectured, aims to explain the uses of medicinal plants and classify them according to specific bases, including morphological classification, therapeutic classification and commercial classification.
The session discussed the reasons for using medicinal plants and some types of active substances extracted from medicinal plants that have a therapeutic role for humans and some of their uses in combating some pests, including insect pests.
The session addressed the way active substances affect the human body systems as well as the factors affecting the effectiveness of active substances in medicinal plants.
