University of Basrah Organizes Workshop on Latest Chemotherapy Treatments for Cancer
The College of Pharmacy at the University of Basrah organized a scientific workshop entitled "New Developments in Chemotherapy Treatments for Cancer."
The workshop aimed to inform researchers in the fields of chemistry and pharmaceutical chemistry about the latest modern chemotherapy treatments for various cancers, as well as research published in well-known international journals or currently under investigation. This workshop aims to inform researchers interested in pursuing a career in this productive and beneficial field of specialization about the latest developments in chemotherapy for cancer.
The workshop, presented by Dr. Najm Al-Masoudi, included a review of classic and modern cancer treatment drugs. It also reviewed Dr. Najm's most important work in this field for the last five years, most notably the development of nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs) such as diclofenac and sulpiride to new beta-lactam derivatives. Sulindac derivatives have shown very high efficacy against breast tumors compared to the drug Taxol.
