University of Basrah Organizes Workshop on the Role of Fish as a Healthy Food
The College of Veterinary Medicine at the University of Basra organized a workshop on the role of fish as a healthy food.
The workshop aimed to explain healthy food and the importance of fish as a distinct source of protein, due to its content of essential amino acids and fats.
The workshop, which featured lectures from a number of college instructors, included an explanation of the most important components of fish, including proteins and fats, particularly Omega-3, which is an essential fat that the body cannot synthesize and must be obtained from eating fish. Fish is a healthy food suitable for all ages, and the harmful effects of not getting enough of these fats were also addressed.
