University of Basra organizes a course in cataloging and classification
The General Secretariat of the Central Library at the University of Basra organized a library course in the field of cataloging and classification.
The course aimed to improve the level of education and develop the capabilities and skills of employees working in the university's branch libraries in the field of providing the best library services to library users, including students, professors and interested readers.
The course included introducing the importance of the Dewey Decimal Classification and how to organize information sources according to the approved scientific classification in a scientific and professional manner, identifying the main tables, giving exercises, practical examples and thorough explanations of modern indexes, objective and descriptive indexing, which represents the card or identification of information sources.
