For sustainable development and environmental protection, the University of Basra is exploring scientific cooperation to implement future agricultural projects.
The College of Agriculture at University of Basrah received a delegation from the French Total company, where they discussed a number of future projects in the fields of agriculture and combating some harmful animals, in addition to discussing ways of joint cooperation between the two parties.
During the meeting, which was attended by the dean of the college and number of professors, it was agreed to submit proposals for projects that can be implemented in the fields supervised by the company, in addition to discussing the possibility of conducting soil, water and pollution tests by the college's specialized staff.
The delegation also toured the laboratories of the College of Agriculture, the Marketing Center of the Consulting Office, and the Agricultural Research Station, where they were briefed on the available scientific and technical capabilities that can contribute to supporting the company's projects in Iraq.
It is noteworthy that this visit comes within the framework of the College of Agriculture's keenness to build bridges of cooperation with international companies, with the aim of developing the agricultural sector and benefiting from international expertise in improving agricultural productivity and sustainability of environmental resources.
