A master's thesis at the University of Basra, Al-Qurna College of Education examines the poetry of Abdul Hamid al-Samawi.
The thesis, submitted by student Amjad Adel Rashash, aims to address the poems compilation of Abdul Hamid al-Samawi from a linguistic perspective, where the poetic texts were analyzed on three levels: Phonetic, structural, and semantic.
The study included: The acoustic level: Phonetic repetition was prominent in enhancing the internal rhythm, and tone and intonation played a role in emphasizing the meanings, and Al-Samawi relied on the variety of rhymes to add harmonious music to his texts. And the compositional level: He showed an interest in morphological and grammatical structures, with the use of verbal, kinetic, and nominal sentences.
