University of Basra organizes a seminar on cyber extortion and its impact on the joints of university work
The General Secretariat of the Central Library, in cooperation with the Faculty of Education for Girls at the University of Basra, organized a seminar on cyber extortion and its impact on work in university libraries.
The seminar aimed to educate the audience of employees about the danger of the hacker's access to the official data of the educational institution, and how to fortify the confidentiality of information circulating in the information network (Internet).
The seminar, which was lectured by Dr. Rafif Abdul Hafiz Al-Riyahi, explained the concept of hacking (hacking) and presented practical examples of some cases of blackmail and the legal procedures to be followed when exposed to it, and the methods of control of the blackmailer (hacker) on phones, computers and smart tablets by sending images, fake websites or mobile numbers intended for hacking, how he obtains personal data and information from official pages managed by employees such as websites and social media pages, and how he entraps victims and blackmails them by controlling video calls.
