University of Basra organizes a seminar on Ramadan between science and faith
The Continuing Education Center at the University of Basra organized a seminar titled "Ramadan between Science and Faith: A Scientific Understanding of the Virtues of Fasting".
Presented by researcher Amna Kazim Omran, the seminar aimed to provide a scientific and religious understanding of the benefits of fasting, link modern science to its concept in Islam, and promote health and behavioral awareness during Ramadan.
She touched on the health benefits of fasting, such as improving digestive functions, removing toxins from the body, promoting heart health and regulating blood sugar levels. She also addressed the impact of fasting in enhancing patience and self-discipline, improving mood and reducing stress, in addition to its role in strengthening family and social ties.
