University of Basra organizes an awareness workshop on the definition of drugs, their dangers and harm to individuals and society
The Faculty of Management and Economics in Qurna, University of Basra, organized an awareness workshop entitled "Defining Drugs, Their Risks and Harms to Individuals and Society".
The workshop, presented by Dr. Basma Karrar Kazar, focused on the definition of drugs, their types and the reasons for their use, as well as the health, psychological and social consequences of their use, which may lead to what is known as "dependency syndrome". The workshop also highlighted how drugs are addictive, and the impact of each type of drug on human health in the short and long term.
The workshop touched on the biological, psychological and social reasons behind drug addiction, with a detailed explanation of how to prevent it.
