University of Basraj Organizes a Seminar on Neutrality in Oman's Foreign Policy
The Basra and Arabian Gulf Studies Center organized a seminar titled: "The Principle of Neutrality in Omani Foreign Policy 1970-2020."
The seminar, presented by lecturer Hassan Abdul-Hussein Habib, reviewed the concept of foreign policy in general and the Sultanate of Oman's policy in particular, which adopts the principle of positive neutrality as a strategic option to enhance its national security and political stability. The seminar also defined the principle of neutrality, its historical roots, and its types in international politics, as well as the constants and foundations of Omani policy that have helped it stand firm in the face of international crises despite regional and international pressures.
The seminar concluded that the Sultanate's reliance on external neutrality has enabled it to achieve internal political and security stability, as well as a respected international reputation and standing as a trusted mediator.
