University of Basra Organizes Annual Agricultural Exhibition
University President Dr. Muhannad Jawad Kazim opened the activities of the annual agricultural exhibition at the Faculty of Agriculture at the University of Basra.
During his speech at the opening, the Rector stated that the exhibition aims to support the local agricultural product by showcasing modern agricultural techniques and exploring new horizons to promote the Iraqi agricultural sector, which plays an important role in raising self-sufficiency rates of some commodities and foodstuffs.
He added that the exhibition represents the fruit of sincere efforts and diligent work of the college staff and students and reflects the level of creativity and development reached by the university in the fields of sustainable agriculture and applied scientific research, as well as an opportunity to enhance cooperation between the university and the local community and highlight the innovations and student projects that contribute to supporting the agricultural sector in Iraq.
He stressed that the activities of the agricultural exhibition will include various events and activities that include agricultural, animal, cultural and recreational fields, as well as displaying local and innovative agricultural products and organizing competitions between students and researchers in the field of agriculture.
